Best part of the trip so far? How's the weather? How much free stuff has Locutus gotten? What are you going to bring me? ;-)

I don't know that we can really pin down a 'best' part of the trip so far. It's all been really good, but nothing super outstanding yet.

The weather has been decent. It's been a mixed bag of rain, wind, and sunshine. The temperature has been good with the low in Japan being about the same as the high back home.

Locutus has gotten a fair bit of free stuff so far: an amenity set (slippers, washcloth, toothbrush & paste), some paper cranes, various bits of food, and 1000 yen.

We are going to bring you a sumo wrestler's hand print autograph.

Hi Lance,Jen,Locutus. Dad wants to know what day you are returning and the arrival time. If it works out we will put the car seat to use again. How did Locutus make out with his cold. The pictures you are taking are fantastic. I see your hand in a lot of them Jen. You have a great eye for photography. Sobu1

We're returning on the 27th and the flight is scheduled to arrive at 11am. We have a link in the top left of the blog that has the flight number. You can click that, enter the flight numer (AC4) and it'll tell you the flight status of whether we're on time or not. If it does work out that you can pick us up that would be great. If you let us know, then you guys can find a place nearby the airport to wait and we can call you when we've landed so that you don't end up paying the exorbitant parking fees.

Locutus's cold is much better. He never developed a fever or anything so we haven't needed to give him any antibiotics - yay!

Yay for no antibiotics!

A sumo wrestler's hand print autograph? Cool!

How much is 1000 yen in Canadian dollars (and yes, I'm well aware of the fact that I'm sitting in front of the computer and probably could have googled the information as fast as it took to type this, but this is the Reader Question Post, so I'm asking the question!)

Good question Kim.I was wondering how much 1000 yen was as well, and was also too lazy to google the info. Besides Lance and Jen are on holidays. They have more time than us (ha,ha). sobu

1000 yen works out to about $12.50.

We can also add to the list of free stuff that he got: a toy car with his kids meal.

And a girlfriend.

Kim said...

Thank you!

The toy car is cool :-)

Only one girlfriend? :-o

I would like to know if the singers at the sumo tournaments sound as bad in person as they do on the live stream hahaha! With exception of the dashing yobidashi of course!!

Jenn said...

Yes Deb, the singers sound just as bad in person as they do on the stream. I'm really hoping some of the senior yobidashi retire soon so that some good singers can move up the ranks.
